I put a dash cam in my RV to protect me from the idiots that tend to cut off larger vehicles. All it takes is one of these people to cut me off and then hit their brakes (needed or not) and I'm rear ending them. I want it all recorded as in general in a rear end wreck the driver behind is found at fault unless there is evidence to the contrary. That is why many truck drivers are using dash cams.
I have already recorded a wreck on mine. I only saw something briefly in my peripheral vision a few lanes over but the camera caught it all...somebody changing lanes into somebody else...from the REAR!!
Swoop and squats are a big way people try to cause wrecks in order to get insurance money from truckers. I read about semis being run off the road all the time in Austin. I think all truckers need them, because it almost certainly shows how the other driver caused a wreck, and might be usable for criminal charges (assault with a deadly weapon, attempted vehicular homicide, etc.)
What I've wanted was two horn buttons. A quiet horn to wake up the person on the phone texting at a stoplight, then an obscenely loud one to keep someone out of your lane.
