  • I have no way of knowing what tires may come on any given vehicle. Also I really have no idea what some people use as a TOAD or have as a personal vehicle if they are not full timers.

It was tire related news and I thought that based on history of recalls where hundreds or thousands of people never respond to a recall notice it was not unreasonable to spread the word far and wide.
  • The recall is for 18"/19" and 20" P tires. IMO 1500 truck owners with these size tires may be affected.

The only RV I've heard of with 20" P tires is the Carriage Domani 5th wheel trailer that came with a optional P285/50/20R Goodyear Fortena on 5.2k axles with American Racing (8 lug 20 X 10" rim) wheels.

Hard to believe a trailer mfg would tire placard 20" P tire on a 11k-12k lb trailer. Well.... so much for the tire placard nonsense.

May be those Domani owners that switched to Michelins will see the recall notice or be notified by Michelin or their dealer.
  • even though these are really P rated tires on trucks and SUV’s, not necessarily TV’s, and not on many RV’s themselves,
I think it is amazing that on a forum of this size and people that would seemingly have a great interest in all things RV related, that there is almost no interest at all in recalled items and in true safety issues…

I guess it is just as amazing that this would amaze me… because most people buy RV’s for color, smooth sides and lots of shiny things… seldom are safety items discussed in length or often not taken very seriously by many posters… maybe it’s because any single recall involves only a few of us at any given time or it could be that many that post today make up their own safety issues and rules… like 5 MPH or even 10 MPH over the speed LIMIT is their self-proclaimed speed limit and anyone that professes driving slower is guilty of impedance, worthy of no less than fine and imprisonment and 40 lashes in public square…
