I have to jack knife my trailer into my driveway. Our street is really only about 1 1/2 lanes wide and my driveway is one car wide with a ditch going under it.
When I first got the hitch with the new Jay Flight 26BH and heavier duty 1200 lbs bars (no 1000 lbs bars), it grenaded the head. Thought the bar hit the cam bracket as that was common. Or the bar hit the ball threads. Either way I don't know for sure but the system was installed incorrect by the dealer. They are a Reese Dual Cam dealer but the system was on my older Jay Flight 19BH with 800 lbs bars, which was pulled with both a Sport trac and a 2010 F150, and never had issues backing it into my driveway with the bars on. BUT never had to jack knife the shorter trailer either.
Anyhow, dealer contacted Reese and stated to them, when backing in with the dual cam, if the angle is really sharp, as mine is with the need to jack knife it in, the bars need to be taken off as it could cause trouble.
As I said not for sure what happen but new ball has shorter stem and new install doesn't let bar hit the cam bracket now. BUT I take the bars off as it's just easier doing it and a lot less noise to distract me as I'm shoe horning the trailer in.
