Mar 28, 2016I don't have any experience with the DC, but I went through the same DC vs Blue Ox battle when looking for a new hitch. I ended up going with Blue Ox. From lots of reading basically both hitches perform equally. The Blue Ox takes advantage of some clever geometry which allows for a more simplistic design. Originally I was equally confused about how it was going to work, but after reading lots and lots of posts about the hitch and talking to Blue Ox's techs, I have a better understanding. It doesn't look like it would perform as well as the more complex DC, but it works quite well.
When I get blown from the wind or a truck that passes closely I get moved around as one unit. I don't have quick lane change events often, but the times that I have the hitch does a great job keeping the trailer in line with truck. I have not once felt like the combo was about to get out of control. With the hitch I've never experienced a sway event.
