The complexity of the Equalizer?

Perhaps I'm missing something, but I thought the Equalizer was one of the simplest designs out there, and no chains to count or snap up, etc. I pull a church trailer with a traditional chain WD hitch, and I hate dealing with it.

I haven't seen the blue ox, but if my equalizer ever needs replacing, I'd look into it.
