new rv

My wife and I bought a new rv travel trailer at the beginning of Oct. Went camping and found the frige did not work. Took it back to dealer and they have had it ever since. Last wednesday they were suppose to have gotten a new frige in. This morning I call and they say they are having an issue with the screws. I figure they have damaged something in the support. They said they would call us right back. We usually call them once a week to find out what's going on. They never call us. My wife says just to give them the rv back and get our down payment. Not sure if we can do that. Looks like we now have a damaged trailer. Anyone else have this happen to them? If so what were your options?

We are a big advocate of A good mobile rv guy. In the last couple of years that is all we have used. They do warranty work also. So keep your rv at home and let your repair guy come to you, it sure saves the aggravation of dealing with some of these rv places. Good luck!

    this one ^^^^^^^

  • DTR has the right idea. Go there in person, be pleasant and reasonable in your excpectations.
Your unit isn't damaged. With just about any RV sold, you are going to need some repairs performed and unfortunately, this is just part of the process.
So don't worry. I suspect when you get it back you will never know anything was done.
  • They will not refund your money and take the trailer back.
Forget the phone calls....get over there and actually see what is going on.
Next step after that is to by-pass the dealer, move up the chain and get the manufacturer involved.

Good luck with it. I feel for you.
  • I would go there and physically have them show exactly what is going on with it. Maybe they haven't touched it and are stringing you along. Being that is a new trailer everything should be under warranty and the fridge should have it's own separate warranty. You may have to rattle your sword and demand some action.
  • I would say no, you can't take it back and get your down payment refunded.

What is the name/location of the dealer who sold you the RV? Maybe another forum member has experience with the same dealer and csn give you some advice.
