I installed back up lights on the trailer. They are 55w halogen driving lights that I mounted on the bumper and wired through a relay powered from the TT batteries and triggered by the TV reverse lights. These babies completely light up the pad without me having to get out of the truck. If there is a tree or tricky obstacle DW will get out and mark it with a flashlight.
The back up lights are also helpful when backing out of gas stations at night both to see where you are going and to alert other motorists that you are backing up.
To the poster that suggested that the OP change his travel schedule you mist not work for a living.
