As a single lady towing a tt, I used to get a lot of offers to help. I am very good at backing but I did appreciate help. (I always got out to look and plan my approach.) Depending on the site difficulty, I would say “just point to the direction the back of the trailer should go and I'll take care of turning the wheels.” Other times it would be “yell if I’m going to hit anything.” My favorite times were when several, usually older, men would help by giving conflicting directions. Generally I would ignore them, back in, then get out and say “thanks so much, I couldn’t have done it without you.” It was nice of them to help, and I could see no reason to hurt their feelings.
