I learned from my Dad a long time ago when trying to back a utility trailer through a barn door at a little 13 acre weekend "farm" we had for horses. You just hold the steering wheel on the bottom half. If you want the back of the trailer to go left, move your hand to the left, and vice versa.
Its easier if you don't think about it.
In a CG, I offer once. If they don't want help I grab a lawn chair and a beer, sit next to my MH and watch. Cheap entertainment. Pride goeth before the crunch.

Learned the same way with a utility trailer into the horse barn also. And let me tell you backing something short is WAAAY harder than backing something long. :W

The biggest factor in ease of backing is how you 'approach' the entry point that a lot of people don't know about.
All you have to do is go around the block or road to come in a different direction so you enter your spot backing in on the 'drivers side'. Just doing that makes it 98% easier for the newbie. Heck after 40 years of RV'ing even I will go around the block to be able to back in on the driver's side. Why not it does make it easier.

I read this in an RV magazine many years ago! Works great, I find palming the wheel helps as the motion is continuous!
I don't do bad at backing, but still get bitten by the 90/10 rule! 90% of the time I do great, we don't talk about the other 10% of the time.
The best marriage saver is my DW only watches for kids, or a obstacle directly behind the 5er. I find no shame in getting out and looking if in question.
