It took us a bit as well. I'm a volunteer firefighter (former operator - now Asst. Chief) so I am very comfortable with big vehicles and backing into tight spots. She knows I will stop if I do not see her in the mirrors and she knows to look up!
If someone is having trouble, I have her approach and offer my help. She is one of those people that can do that and no one seems to get offended. Me they would probably tell to take a hike!
Gotta admit that it is my favorite spectator sport however, watching the back up and setup shows. There are some people who make it all look easy!
