Top of my list is generators. For some reason too many people think that to enjoy the outdoors they need to have a microwave oven and a television and an electric coffee maker and an air conditioner. This luxury items have become a necessity in their mind.
The number on reason to get out of town is to have peace and quiet and listen to the sounds of nature. To have an internal combustion engine running for hours to provide 120v AC for appliances destroys the atmosphere for everyone else in the area.
It is why I prefer parks with AC hookups to many "boondocking" campgrounds where people insist on firing up their generators in the morning and again in the afternoon and evening. It is why we have a truck with a slide in camper that will fit in areas where motorhomes and large travel trailers cannot.
