When I use to fly, all the regulated parks were well outside of town, and you were required to carry liability insurance if you wanted to use their facilities.
I have a 75lb compound bow that shoots an arrow in excess of 300 FPS. I hit my target....most of the time. I don't think a fellow camper would be too happy with me if I was shooting at my target bag that backed up to his campsite
But we're talking about a park system wide ban. You're saying that there's no safe area to fly rc aircraft in the entire park? Hunting is allowed in NPS parks, but like you said there are regulations dictating distance from structures, etc. Why wouldn't they use the same logic to regulate a far less risky activity? Is the NPS sued when there's a hunting accident?
As for liability insurance, that's a requirement ar a private club/field. The NPS parks a public areas.
