They are building the entry level pickups lighter and lighter to get fuel miledge up and pricing down, they attract customers who will seldom if ever carry more than a couple of bags of potting soil. Factory payload ratings also err on the side of caution so they can't be sued when 1320Fastback puts 2 tons on his D250 and breaks it.:B
