Shareholders sue companies all the time for this sort of thing. Companies take a short term hit in stock price which usually bounces back. Most likely it will be settled out of court like most civil suits.

Just think, all Nixon would have had to do was deny it was his voice, claim the tape was unintelligible, call the investigation a hoax, never sweat or look guilty, and he may have gotten away with it.
