- fj12ryderExplorer IIIYeah, free shipping is about the only thing keeping Amazon prices competitive. Take away free shipping and you can beat Amazon prices at lots of places.
- myredracerExplorer IIIt looks like Amazon now requires a purchase of min. $49 of items to get free shipping. They also charge for shipping and handling (under $49) and tax. It may seem like the lowest price at first glance, but in the end may be less from other sources.
The 3" Valterra waste valve w/o cable operator for example, can be found cheaper elsewhere online. S&H + taxes - $26.69 @ Amazon and $18.09 @ PPLmotorhomes (currently on sale). Tweetys non-sale total price is $23.16.
This is a small ticket item but for more expensive items, it can really pay off to shop until you drop on the internet. - IAMICHABODExplorer IIII always put things on my wish list so not to buy them inadvertently and check from time to time, they will always tell when the price goes down but not always an increase.
Things will change in price, sometimes hourly. A great tool to use when shopping Amazon is camel camel camel just plug in the url of the product on amazon and it will show tracking of the low and high price and you can enter the price you want to pay based on that info and they will E mail you when it gets to or below the price you set.
I always check there if the price seem to be high to me.
Bought a lot of things this way,at very good prices. - fj12ryderExplorer IIIWhy not use the Wish List on Amazon? That way you don't have to worry about ordering things inadvertently. I have a lot of stuff on my Wish Lists, and it also has whether the price is higher or lower than when you first put it on there.
- mgirardoExplorerWhen shopping on Amazon, if I don't need something right away, I put it in my cart and then save it for later. I check my cart on a regular basis. Prices on Amazon swing wildly on some things.
Prime example: We have been watching this Screened Canopy for a long time on Amazon. Right now it is $162 and has been for months but, it is a little more than we want to pay for it. The cheapest we have seen it is $129, the most we've seen it is $360.
When you leave something saved for later and return to your cart, if the price has changed, Amazon will indicate that it changed at the top of the shopping cart. I have about a dozen items I keep track of, my wife has 100s of things she keeps track of.
Amazon usually has good prices, but they do vary and there are plenty of times when I can find something cheaper else where.
-Michael - CavemanCharlieExplorer IIIIf it only a few bucks difference then why not put the money in your neighbors pocket and order locally ?
But, if it is a big difference or, you can not get it locally then I often order online. The UPS truck is on my yard several times a month. I live in the middle of no-where. I can not get many things locally. - austinjennaExplorer

Why would there be a problem to order one from Amazon? Are you not sure if you found the right valve?
Edit - If something isn't right with it when you get it, Amazon is very easy to deal with on returns.

Not always. Ordered a book from Amazon and they sent me the FedEx tracking number. But FedEx refused to accept the parcel because it didn't meet their shipping requirements, so FedEx cancelled the tracking number. Amazon records indicated it had shipped as they apparently have no way to handle a parcel not accepted for shipment. When the parcel didn't show up and was untraceable I contacted Amazon and they said their records showed it had shipped and I should contact FedEx. FedEx said the tracking number was invalid and not associated with any shipment. This went on for a few days until I finally got someone at FedEx to research it and give me the full story. Took that back to Amazon and they agreed to send a replacement that did finally arrive, but not long after that I got a notice from them that if I didn't return the first shipment they'd charge me for it. Seems they decided to ship the replacement as a replacement for goods damaged in shipment which required the damaged goods to be returned. Took me weeks to get it straightened out.
Amazon easy to deal with? Not for me!
Okay, 99.9% of the time folks don't have any problem with Amazon - jparker66ExplorerThanks again for everyone's comments. Have always loved this site to get info from other campers!
Spring is coming and already have 3 weekends booked for camping in April!
Happy camping to all,

Amazon easy to deal with? Not for me! - Edd505Explorerall the time. I was able to get OEM parts to fix blown tire damage for $200 when the dealer wanted $1500 to make the repair. Done in about 4hrs at home.
