Other options than using leveling jacks

Hello. I have a 1996 40' diesel Monaco Dynasty and right now the leveling jacks are out of service and I am going to a campsite this upcoming Monday. Does anyone know creative ways to level the RV without the jacks? Thank you in advance.

I have been scolded (on this forum!) for trying to level my trailer with the stabilizing jacks. I used to do this but I've been convinced to level front to back with the tongue jack, and side to side with pads under the wheels. Only then do you extend your jacks to stabilize the trailer.

I do believe the OP was talking about an Hydraulic/Electric leveling system on his Motorhome, not stabilizers. You are correct, you shouldn't use stabilizers to level your camper. The whole point of hydraulic and electronic leveling systems is to level the camper.

What? you don't like all those puddles when it rains?

Site comes with water view! :B

I guess some folks never heard of boards.

  • I have used a 20 ton hydraulic jack along with a pair of 12 ton jack stands. I can get all 6 wheels of the fifth wheel in the air if needed.
  • Creative? Take a shovel and start digging holes for each wheel until you get it level. :)

Personally, I would use blocks. They're simple, easy and get the job done.
  • lynx ? camco ? leveling blocks

DIY board leveling blocks, better use 3*10 blocks of oak
  • Creative no.
My gasser has no leveling jacks.
I use a level and boards. Put boards on the low side of the MH and drive up on them.
