Outlets in travel trailer not working

Hi, we just bought our very first trailer. It's a 1983 Mallard 20 foot travel trailer. Got an old one to see if we would like taking care of a trailer. The man we bought it from had it parked for 3 years without moving it. We bought a brand new 12v battery and everything turned on as soon as we installed it. But the outlets didn't work. We tried plugging in a little radio to check the outlets and,,,nothing. The bathroom outlet has a ground and we pushed it and it clicked, but still nothing. I've checked everywhere for a manual,, impossible to find. The previous owner has no idea what could have happened. Help please.

  • Welcome to the forum. I'm guessing the above posts are correct, you are not plugged into shore power.
Don't hesitate to ask questions, there is a lot of information available on the forum.
Congrats on your Mallard, I'm sure you will like it.
Check your tires. RV tires usually age out before they wear out.
  • Is it plugged in to 120v shore power? It has to be for the outlets to work...
  • Welcome to the forums. Please read the rules and do not post same question on different forums. Outlets need 110 shore power to work unless you have an inverter (not converter which most all trailers have) wired in. Plug it up to a household outlet and see if the stuff plugged in will work then.
