- tenbearExplorerThis is the one we bought.
Oxygenics Shower head
We bought ours a couple of years ago and the valve was different, difficult to operate, so when it broke I wasn't too sad. We replaced the valve with this one.
Positive shower shutoff
This allows us to shut the water right off and also gives us fine control over the water flow. When we are dry camping we can reduce the flow way back and still have enough pressure for a reasonable shower. Makes our water last much longer than the OEM shower head, and gives us a much better shower. - The_Dung_BeetleExplorer

Is the one sold for RVs the same one that looks like it and is sold as just a regular shower head, or is there something special about the RV one that makes it better for RVs?
To educate yourself just go to an RV store and ck them out. We were going to get ours from Camping World, but our local dealer had a price that matched CW's. WE LOVE THAT THING! I have very thick curly hair, and that little shower head is WONDERFUL! It's a real shower... not a cat bath. It conserves water usage while giving you a very good spray...lol

I guess there must be even cheaper plastic shower heads in RVs with no ON/OFF valve on them that causes a lot of posters to have to buy the Oxygenics head??
Mine had nothing to do with the on/off valve (in fact, the Oxygenics that I had to buy had to have one added)- it had to do with the awful water pressure coming out of the factory shower head. Night and day difference with the Oxygenics. - pnicholsExplorer IIHmmmm .... I've seen a lot of posting on the forums about those Oxygenics shower heads.
My Itasca RV came with what at first I thought was just a plain old cheap looking cream-colored plastic shower head, HOWEVER - it does have an ON/OFF valve built right into the head that's at your fingertips. We just throttle this valve down a bit to save water when showering and can easily turn it OFF a few seconds while soaping down to save even more water.

Way to go Winnebago! - ependydadExplorerHere's a write-up w/ link to amazon. We love ours for our family of wookies:

the operation is all the same, model to model.
Can I assume those who use this product do so to save water, and normally dry camp?
If you run the hand shut off valve wide open, they do NOT save any water over the OEM. But you can get excellent performance running the valve at about 50%. At that point it makes a big difference. - 2gypsies1Explorer III

Does it look like this one
clicky
In looking at all the models on this site, we have one of the large round shower heads but not sure of the exact model #. We love ours and do a lot of boondocking. It gives a very strong water flow and has an easy shut-off for inbetween soaping up and rinsing. (While boondocking we don't leave the water running.) Highly recommended! - wbwoodExplorerWe love ours. Got ours at CW. If you are a GS member, there is/was a $5 coupon.
- greenskeeperExplorerMine was junk, bought it at Quartsite, used it the rest of the winter, took it out and threw it away............
