I have had knee arthritis for 15 years, 2 rotator cuff repairs 4 Ti pins in each shoulder, 18 in of my colon removed due to multiple attacks of diverticulitis, and about a dozen kidney stone attacks. So I can empathize with you. With my first 3 kidney stone attack's I went to the emergency room because the pain was so unbearable. The morphine and other drugs would dull the pain but not eliminate it. What I have learned over the years is to take Ibuprofen, Acetaminophen, and Naproxen all over the counter pain killers that you can buy at any drug store and just take one 325 mg tablet of each. Somehow the combination works better then 3 Ibuprofen's etc. I passed a large kidney stone this way up in Alaska far from a hospital and another in Fla for the winter last year using this process. Hope this helps and I am sure your pain will reduce in time. I am putting off the TKR as long as I can. I think when you get older you just get used to a certain amount of pain.
