Depending of where the partitions are located there MAY be another reason. Our first 5th wheel was rated for XXXX pounds or XXX square feet of storage. Granted I could have piled lead ingots in the basement storage area and exceeded the weight limit. However, I saw the back wall of the basement was 6 inches forward of the right side storage access door.
The water pump was in a space just inside that right access door and the pump "partition" was part of the rear wall. When I took the full height water pump access panel off I could see a factory aluminum frame 6 inches aft of the back basement wall. The area about a foot aft of the water pump was under a coat closet/storage area just inside the door to the trailer.
Took most of a day but I moved the water pump into that space under the "hall closet" and moved the back wall to the factory almunium stem wall. Gave us enought room that the huge folding DW needed would now fit in the basement and we no longer needed to store them on the bed.
