- bmuptonExplorerWe plan on doing this in our seasonal spot this year. We are surrounded by seasonal people behind us, across the road, and to the one side, with a "first come first served" site behind us.
Most everyone has younger kids and we've talked to most of them already and suggested it. They all think it's an awesome idea for the kids to have an outdoor movie.
Depending on who's occupying the walk-up site behind us that weekend will determine whether or not a movie is played. - nitrohorseExplorer

Great set up, I love it! Id be over there in a heartbeat. Do you serve popcorn with your movies? lol
I have to say that I fully expected all the regulars to chime in on their displeasure with this type of exterior entertainment..... you cant please everyone all of the time.....you can park next to me anytime.
I love watching Rev. Peter Popoff on the side of my RV. He's my favorite faith healer. Nothing like listening to his emotional plea for salvation through my Bose 901s. I have a 1500 watt surround sound, so I can always hear my evangalist over your racing. - nitrohorseExplorer

Here's a picture from our site last weekend.

Does anyone else do something like this?
Yes, quite often, and it always seems that the little crowds that show up enjoy themselves. A lot of parents seem to be doing this for their kids and the other little ceumb snatchers in the CG, showing cartoons or Disney movies. Good for them. But next time, get a scren. The logo-in-the-picture is kind of tacky LOL.
Maybe some of the grouchy old folks that want to hate on NASCAR and other sports events, and want to control what others do, should try things like this.
And save sending me rules and regulations from a thousand different campground. They all read the same and I have been reading them for over twenty years. I don't think I can rmember when my RV neighbors did something that upset me so much that I had to whine about it to the world. All I can say is that if you don't like it, don't look.
Reading the rules for over 20 years is one thing. Understanding that your not above them is another...... - mlts22Explorer III've encountered people with inflatable movie screens and external speakers large enough to make the ones in KISS concerts look tiny. In fact, next to selling RVs bristling with flat screen televisions, it was one of the better sellers at the last RV show I went to.

Sounds like grouches. Maybe some of them should stay home. Campgrounds are for everyone. What they do within reason in a cililized manner should not bother most people.
...and there in lies the problem with some campers...lack of respect for other campers in the same vicinity as themselves...I see this happen alot for the "seasonal" campers who only come out 3 times a year (including this weekend) and ruin it for others...main reason I gave up camping on the holidays - BurbManExplorer IIWhat CG is that? Looks like Shinnecock. Judging by the pic looks like you got 2 sites?
I think it's an awesome idea and I'll bet you've made a lot of friends like that. Key is to be respectful of the neighbors, make the image smaller if too bright and turn it down if too loud. The real problem is that some folks after a few beers think the whole CG wants to watch the race... - ShearwaterExplorerInteresting that this topic comes up right next to the "Stuck with Rude Neighbors" post.
- doxiemom11Explorer IIWe have had groups come in to camp and do a very large screen tv under a tent for a special football game or event. They all camped on their own sites and then gathered for potluck and the game. It was great. No one was out of line and it was not noisy. Only time we heard them was when they cheered their team after a touchdown. No one else in the park was offended either as they were all invited to eat and watch the game also. No one got drunk, but did enjoy a couple of beers during the game. The sites were all left clean when they all left the next day. It was an annual tradition for them to come to our park for this particular event.
- HelmseyExplorerI have made friends several times by having the evening college football game on the side of the camper. There has even been times when my neighbor in the campground came over and enjoyed themselves... *gasp*
- FlatBrokeExplorer IINASCAR! Love it anytime. GO JIMMIE! I'll join ya with a twelve pack. Crank it up and run the grumps out.
