Pilot Toad

I'm considering buying a 2011 Honda Pilot to tow behind my 2003 Country Coach Intrigue. One Honda salesperson told me Pilot's shouldn't be towed and said I should get a CRV. I don't care for the CRV. Has anybody had experience towing a Pilot?
  • A friend tows a 2006 Pilot 4 down. She says that is the last year Pilots were towable.

Without looking it up, I think the last year Honda approved the Pilot for towing was 2006. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong. PS I like our 2013 CR-V EX AWD. Dick

If I'm not mistaken, it was half way through the 2005 model year.

  • The Honda pilot is not suitable for 4 wheel down towing. The CRV is towable with certain shifting procedures that you have to go through just before towing. the procedures are spelled out in the owners manual, look in the index for "towing behind a MH" if it is towable it will give you what page to turn to. I tow a CRV and have had no trouble in over 40,000 miles.
