Plans for the 4th?

We always camp the holidays. Our kids enjoy playing with the other kids in the campground and we enjoy meeting the other campers. Our entire family will come out on the 4th and spend the day. There are times when we enjoy the place not being crowded, but we generally like it better with people. Seems boring when the campground is empty. To each his own.....

We are in Pigeon Forge at Creekside Campground. Not leaving until Monday. Since we full time have to be somewhere. BTW would recommend this campground.

As traveling full-timers we had to stay somewhere but we always chose places away from water (rivers, lakes, pools). By doing this we had many nice quiet 4ths. We feel folks have a different mental attitude on the 3-day holidays. Best to stay away.

Our very best one was spent while boondocking near Silverton, Colorado. They have a very fun parade and awesome fireworks.

Normally we don't do parades but this year we were rooked into being on a Pickleball float. We'll be tossing balls to the kids. But going home before the fireworks.

Chetek is a tourist destination. We are getting company, who will stay in the motorhome. There is a craft show, car show, and fireworks on the lake. Hopefully we'll be doing a lot of boating and fishing, too!

My wife doesn't enjoy hot weather, but last weekend was supposed to be below average and we were going to try a new campground with lots of stuff for the kids. Well last weekend was a total rain out here in the Mid-Atlantic so we decided not to go. Good decision. The same campground still had availability for the holiday weekend, but we sat on our hands too long and now they're booked solid. So I'm a little bummed out. All the same I know its going to be crazy out there.

Holidays or no holidays I just love to go.

But unfortunately no plans this holiday to much stuff going on.

Nothing on the 4th. Leaving on the 6th for five and a half weeks to Boston (with grandson in tow), Bar harbor, Bay of Fundy, Quebec City, Montreal and home.

I might get out on the 4th and wash the "roof sludge" off the fiver, but that is about it.

Since we are in Island Park,ID. we will probably ride over to Ennis, MT. for a fireman's pancake breakfast, parade and car show. Then into West Yellowstone, MT. for fireworks at 10 PM.

Going to do a little boondocking close to Mt. Rainier, get away from the insanity of the 4th in our neighborhood.
