I used poly-glow two years ago on a 27' sailboat that was 27 years old. The results were fantastic. The folks at the marina where she was moored couldn't believe the difference. The boat looked very good for its age before I used the poly-glow,but the hull truly looked like new after. Every year I had to compound the entire hull and buff in several coats of marine wax. It took me a few days to get a satisfactory result. After six months on a mooring in salt water,under the flight path of a major airport,I would have to go through the whole procedure again!
The poly-glow was extremely easy to use once the scrubbing to remove all old wax was finished. The first few coats were a disappointment,because I was expecting a miracle. The miracle happened after about the fourth of seven coats.The entire application took about three hours with drying time. The results were a mirror-like shine. The second year required a good cleaning and one or two coats of the poly-glow to restore the good looks.(The parts of the boat the were abraded by the straps of the the marine crane required a complete stripping and reapplication.) It is essentially a polymer plastic coating that you apply. It may peel eventually,but since it is easily removed,I really didn't care. The results were worth it.
