LOTS of good ideas... I never knew my question would result in 4 pages of sarcasm and GREAT ideas.
And then there's those who need to comment, even though I already know the "bag" on hand common task. haha.... In fact, I use that method now... and am looking for something the wife can learn to love. She'll (more often) pick it up too, if it's not using a grocery bag. And... you ALWAYS have to make sure that grocery bag isn't torn or have any holes. And more importantly, they are NOT biodegradable (they should be outlawed until they are biodegradable).
With that, I always like to hear other's ideas.
I like the lined bucket with lid approach. When in camp, I just use my spade shovel. However, last weekend... I wanted a simpler, better approach. Simply because, the shovel sat around camp with skid marks on it. I had to wash it off at the end of the trip, and by then it wasn't easy. I like easy. As well, the grocery bags started to sit at the front corner of the RV (no nearby dumpsters in this campground). And I'm surely not going to stink up my 35gal trash can in the meantime.
SO... I need something simple, easy to clean, and takes care of all the normal issues we deal with. There's two scenarios here; 1- in camp, 2- on a walk.
I'm now thinking simpler is better;

And I'll just use the bucket method to store the stink. Then, when on walks... continue to use the bag-O-hand method as I've always used.
The ideas of using the disposable scooper bags, would get expensive with my dog(s) and the sizes of their waste. As well, not easy to keep from smearing the waste onto the sidewalk or whatever surface they are doing their business upon. I'd just rather use my hand, and make sure I get the most of it. Still disgusting to feel it squish and the warmth, but what-are-ya-gonna-do?!
Keep those ideas coming!!
