I just found this one (http://www.poopup.com/default.aspx ) and purchased one. Works great. And it's small so you can carry it with you. I REALLY don't like the feel of poop in my hand even though it's in a bag. You can still feel the warmth and squishyness. The poopup solves those problems.
I'd be interested to know what size dog your picking up after... and, if it's working to your needs. It looks like a great solution for my wife, who also doesn't like the feeling of warm/squishy poop in her bag covered hand. :D
I'm still thinking of the shovel for camp and maybe even one at home... but, the scoop you linked to seems cheap (in quality, but also in price) enough that if it broke after a year of use I still got my money worth. But also, small enough to carry on the walk without too much to worry about. Usually, we already have a chuck-it, dogs water bottle, and our own refreshment in our hands... so, depending this might be a bit too much. All depends on how well it actually works for a larger dog (100lbs +).
Do you have to use the bags it comes with?? Or can you use any plastic shopping bag (in a pinch - no pun intended - haha)??
