This isn't exactly on topic, but I guess this means you let your dogs defecate where the next campers kids will be playing...
Not exactly on topic? It's not at all on topic.
But to answer you: Actually, no, we don't. 90% of the time we are not at a campground, but at a dog show where we're parked in the middle of a field (but we still clean up!) And wherever we are, we carry plastic patio mats that we use when the field is muddy, or when at a campground. They go down first, then the pen. Easy clean-up, with no piles or smears left behind.
Here's this weekend's setup:
Yes, that's another detail that I didn't include before. Not because I expect people to be clairvoyant, but because it has nothing to do with the the topic at hand, just like the negative anti-dog and anti-scooper comments. If we all wrote down every possible detail with every post, these threads would get very long, with a lot of unnecessary clutter.
I just don't get it... There is so much discussion about how angry people get when others don't clean up after their dogs. Now, when there is a discussion about ways to clean up, by people who want to do the right thing, there are still negative people who want to get their two cents in and cause a commotion. Get a life! I'm beginning to remember why I took a vacation from this forum for a year or two... :(
Your set up is great and I commend you for your care of the campsite. Especially given that a shovel often leaves a nasty smear in the grass.
For what it is worth - I have 3 dogs that I camp with - 2 large and 1 medium - they don't poop on anyone's site - I use bags when camping, but a simple shovel at home. So call me the poop police if you wish, but there is a reason that so many people are anti-dog - and leaving poop smears in the grass on the site from using a scooper is one of them. I want to keep camping with my dogs, I'm sure you do too.
(btw - where I camp the density of wild animals is no where close to the density of dogs - and no, I don't camp at resorts, but stick to provincial campgrounds)
