We've always had from 1 to 4 Siberian Huskys for the last nearly 50 years and that's a lot of poop!
One gallon twist tie plastic bags works perfect and they are so cheap. Simply turn the bag inside out and make a knot with the top of the bag. DONE The twist ties they give you with the bags? Well, we have several gallon plastic bags full of them now and maybe some day we'll find a good use for them. The zipper top bags suck as they are so hard to turn inside out and cost many times what the twist tie bags do. Beside, the nice warm contents in the bag feel so good in the winter time when your fingers are really cold!
As for picking it up with your bare fingers? Yes, it worked good too but we'd always forget to take some toothpicks along to clean under our fingernails...
