We have a permanent spot for our ice maker in one of the outside compartments on the curb side of the rig. It is right there where we need it when having a beverage outside. Like others we take it in our house during the off season so we never have to use ice cube trays at home.
Got mine at Costco for just over $100.00 four years ago and it still works fine. It will make 30lbs of ice in 24 hours so we always have ice for our Coleman cooler as well.
One thing we did discover is that it will not make ice during travel. Too many vibrations to allow the ice to form!
