Refurbished = used = expect a discounted price. It may or may not be a good value depending on if the OEM refurbished it, or a third party.

This item does not state who did the refurbishing. Do not assume the OEM did the work.

Probably have to make your own exhaust spacer. :)

I have 57" tall sliding windows. (slide from side to side) not up and down. Does any one know if the exhaust spacer will accommodate windows of this design?

A lot of times there was never anything wrong with "refurbished items", either the original purchaser did not know how to use it properly, or just changed their mind about the product and returned it as defective. I have bought many "refurbished" items and never had a problem with a single one yet. :)

Yes I read that. I have bought a number of refurbished electronic items that give plenty of good service. Most come with the original guarantee that the manufacturer assigns to the "new" ones.

These are becoming popular now- Folks tell me the ones with dual exhaust hoses work the best...

The 8000BTU should run great off a 2kw Generator... I have run my 8000BTU house window unit off my 2KW Honda Generator a few times without problems...
