Posts about weight got me thinking (RANT of sorts)

I've had two vacations interrupted due to problems with my tow vehicle - pinion bearing the first time, overheated/fried rear axle the second time. I thought my weights were good (and confirmed with multiple weighings). I never considered heat buildup driving across country in the middle of July.

Bottom line - I was within the limits of my TV, but stuff still broke.

I'm simply sharing my experience so that others can learn from my mistakes.
