I do believe knowing the limits of your TV are important and I've always did my best to stay within the limits. What I've never quite understood is the idea that you should go overkill on the TV when not everyone has the means to buy a big 1 ton dually. I see lots of can my 1/2 ton tow this and while they are pushing the limits of it, usually they are fine yet time and time again I see no you need a 1 ton or I would never tow anything that size with a 1/2 ton. Not sure if I will ever buy the argument that a properly equipped 1/2 ton cant handle an 8 or 9k trailer just fine. People say it will get pushed around too much. How is a 6k truck getting pushed around anymore then an 8k truck with a 15k trailer or higher.
