A couple of times a year, I'll fill my FW hose with bleach water and connect the ends so it can slosh around while driving to the next place. That keeps the inside clean.
As holes appear in the hose, if it's close enough to an end, I'll just cut off part of the hose and put a hose mender on. When the hose gets too short, I'll buy a new one.
