power awning question.

That's how mine is too, so it is possible to "dip" the type of awning I have. Don't know about other brands. I loved my old manual awning but the our new trailer came with a power awning so that's fine too.

What type of awning do you have?
We have a Dometic/ A&E that didn't have the ability to lower one side. We just installed the free, adjustable arm kit on ours last weekend. It was a quick 10 min install.

I know there are some that do, mine does not. Rather it "auto-dips" to drain water

Our electric awning has 6 adjustments on each arm, you just compress the ball with your finger and move the awning arm up or down to the next hole.

I don't believe that's true for all electric awnings.

If you want to control which side the water runs off, you can pull one side down, then tighten the knob on the arm to keep it in place. Remember to loosen the knob again before rolling in your awning. Those knobs should always be loose when the awning is deployed, or else the awning cannot "dip" down to dump water.

Mine is supposed to self dump but a 5 gallon puddle gathers before it does. I have a rope with a snap on it I put around it and walk it up to the top then tighten it around the top then pull it down and tie it to something, usually the rear wheel so rain never gathers.

The sides on my electric awning can be lowered, but no where near as much as manual awnings I have/had. Have you looked at the owner/operator's manual for your awning? You can probably find one online, if you don't have one.

I have a similar awning. Usually it just dumps on its own, and after the rain, I will use a broom to gently encourage the water to completely dump. On one occasion where it rained for days, I used a bungee cord to pull one side of the scissor arms close to the camper to create drainage.

Never saw rain once last year so this was the first time it was an issue. One other note. There also does not seem to be a way to connect those de flapper clips as there is no straight arm to fasten them to.

It sounds like mine and I literally just pull down on one side of the arm closest to the camper if that makes sense.
