power of electricity

Hello,

Can someone tell me why when I plug my electric candle warmer in, in my RV it does not work properly? I bring it home and it works fine.

Thank you
Jody

It won't work when you don't have the rv plugged in :S
  • Question: Is the Candle Warmer just a 2 prong plug? And is it possible that the items that do work are 3 prong? If so it could be an open Neutral on that outlet. Just a thought since generally somewhere the Ground a Neutral are usually tied together.
  • Thanks Jim, the outlet does work but just won't with this candle warmer..
  • It sounds like the electrical outlet you are plugged into is not working. Try plugging another item into the same outlet and see if it works. If not, you need to troubleshoot the circuit to see why it's not working. It could be a GFI switch or circuit breaker has tripped.

  • WOW! Are you ever lost?
What powers the candle warmer, what ever the heck that is?
Are you plugged into 120VAC when away from home?
  • does this happen every time and everyplace you camp?
Are you plugged in to shore power, running off a generator or off an inverter?

    BTW Welcome
  • Need more info!

    What kind of RV?
Is the RV plugged in to shore power?
If not does it have an inverter?
