Preemptive Hornet/Wasp Prevention?

Is there a preemptive way to keep hornets & wasps from nesting in the nether parts of the trailer? -- underneath in places like the wheel wells, propane tanks, &c.
  • Wasp traps are very effective here. Especially early when the queens come out. You catch the queens, you are eliminating thousands of wasps.
I use traps from the store. Cost about $10-15.
  • Home Despot sells a product name Home Defense, spray it all over where the wasps/mud daubers might make a nest, also on the key looks this has worked for me for several years, I used this for the ants and found it repels the mud daubers also, spray every 3 months or after a good rain where the product got washed away, it is not harmfull to dog, cats, rabits or wild life.

  • Short answer: NO.

The home-made trap in the video might not work depending on the type of wasp involved.

I would suggest an inspection and spraying with ant and spider spray OR house perimeter spray every couple of weeks.

If you never actually find any nesting in/on your stuff, no action is necessary. Check the engine compartment too.
