proflex paint on roof?

im wondering if proflex paintable sealant on the roof of my trailer is the way to go on all the seams and such. the roof is aluminum and leaks a lot, looks like its been painted along the seams with snoroof or something like that in the past. the snoroof is chiping up and I want to remove what I can then go over everything with the proflex. this seems like the easiest and best way, to me atleast.

  • The best material I have found to seal seams on the roof of any RV is Eternabond Tape. http://www.bestmaterials.com/Eternabond.aspx

I installed it on the roof of my MH about two years ago and have not had any problems since then. I used it around all vents, skylight, etc. Last Fall I used it on the seams on the roof of my enclosed car trailer. It will not crack like Dicor sealant or any other sealer will over the course of time. The key is to clean the area very good and use a small roller to apply. You can find instructions at the site I posted.
  • I thought I found an aluminum coating by Pro flex when I was stumbling thru their web site recently.
my catalog shows a dicor metal roof coating system and an elastomeric metal RV roof coating.
