Best Converter has the EMS-PT30X for $233.50. Probably plus shipping. I'm thinking of getting one.
Anyone have any experience pro/con with them?
Not much to think about, other than whether you'd prefer a portable version like the EMS-PT30X or the hard wire EMS-HW30C. Electrically they both serve the same purpose, 'though because the hard wire is considered "field serviceable" you can change delay from the factory preset of 15" to 136", with the portable it's fixed @ 136". If you're in Canada as your profile suggests then ordering from Best Converter may not be your best choice as exchange rate, shipping, and possible import duties could drastically increase that price. :E
Regarding your other discussion about powering your rig with an inverter do note that Progressive warns against plugging any of their EMS units into an inverter. This may affect how you decide to integrate both an inverter and EMS into your unit.

I had decided to get the portable one, if/when I proceed. It would work better for me, based on how I plan to use it, and it's portable, if we sell/buy a new motorhome. That just works better for us. As far as the power restoration delay time, I'm good with 136 seconds. More time to diagnose the problem and react. 15 seconds is a bit short.
Thanks for the concerns regarding pricing/forex/shipping to Canada. However, I live on the border, and have been comparing prices here and there for years, and it's still almost always cheaper to buy there, ship there, and pick up on a 48 hour trip across. Duty and tax free under $800 per 48 hour trip. Give or take. I could probably declare and bring back up to $250 after returning from the US after just a few hours, and CBSA wouldn't bat an eye.
If you can find an EMS - PT30X for sale in Canada for at or under C$325 including taxes and shipping, then let me know. That's what it will cost to order over there and pick up over there from Best Converter. Everything I see on our side is C$400 and up without taxes and shipping.
I had thought about the other thread when I was thinking of the PI EMS-PT30X unit. I only began researching the "getting the inverter to power all the coach receptacles" a few days ago, long after I had decided on the EMS-PT30X unit for the new unit. The two projects are interrelated, for sure. A portable unit could be removed from the mix more easily than a hard wired one.
Thanks for the responses, but I was looking more for a review from someone who actually owns one, on the unit's actual performance. How easy they are to read and diagnose issues, how they reacted when faced with a problem, or didn't, when called into action. That sort of thing.
