Question about Coach-Net Roadside Assistance

everyone needs to read the full benefits brochure (carefully, words matter) for each company and plan to make an informed buying decision… most only read the promotional hype… the basics may be (or sound) the same for all of them but there are differences and those differences could end up being very important when you need help... the coverage’s are not the same even in the higher priced plans for the major companies…

My 3 year plan covers all household vehicles, boat trailer, fifth wheel trailer, daily driver, tow vehicle, wifes car, son's car. Pretty good deal. My son has been towed on at least 3 occasions, I've not had any other instances of needing them. On my third 3 year plan currently, since 2006.

I called the teck line a couple of times and I could not believe how little they know.

Just because they didn't have expert knowledge about your rig doesn't mean they are idiots. There are thousands of different rigs out there, they cannot be expert on all of then.

If you had read the benefits brochure they sent you, it was explained very well there.....I hope you don't think any other ERS is going to be different, because they will not be.......

chances are you forfeit your right of reimbursement by going and hiring on your own, that’s not how it works, and that can be a big problem if you choose a mobile repair and they don’t have a part on the truck or the ability to do the repair along the highway…

it’s always best and seems to be seldom done, to know what the coverage’s are before buying and especially before needing them…

Coach-Net only pays the dispatch and travel fees for an on-site mechanic. The parts and labor while the mechanic is at your vehicle are not covered. I had a problem in the middle of nowhere and a mobile mechanic had to drive three hours each way. Coach-Net covered the travel time although Coach-Net may have a flat rate deal with the provider. I had to pay about $300 for the time the mechanic was fixing my motorhome.

Coach-Net tells you about the one service per incident right in the benefits guide.

I just fornd out the hard way coach net is not all their cracked up to be! I have been having an electrical problem, as I was not getting power to the fuel pump. It was one of those on again, and off again problems that took it's time to develop. I called the teck line a couple of times and I could not believe how little they know. The last time I talked to them they wanted to have me towed to a shop, I asked if they knew any portable service, and they told me that if they paid someone to come out and if the person could not fix the problem I would have to pay if it had to be towed a shop. When I could not believe what he said he told me that it is one of their ways to keep their costs down. I made the choice to find a shop that would come out, so I would have a tow as an option. I got lucky and found a very good teck that took the time to dig deep enough to find the problem. If they would have sent someone out that was not very good I would have been on my own. Sue, did your insurance company give you the full CN package, or does it just cover the one vehicle on the policy? I checked with ours a couple years ago and they would NOT cover all family vehicles, rental vehicles or any borrowed vehicle, only the one on the policy. Also, it was the basic ERS policy, not the Platinum with the extra coverage's.

We called our insurance company and asked if we could get Coach Net thru them. The answer was yes, and we got a substantial discount that way, I suggest you call your insurance company before buying,

I've had CoachNet for 10 years. I used them for the first time this winter for a 66 mile tow so I figure I am even as far as cost goes.
