Some campgrounds they are required,usually by local ordnances just check the rules of the campground you are going to.
I have the one you posted and use it to protect my hose from rocks that may put pinholes in the sewer hose,been there done that and it is no fun to have a leak and having to buy a new hose,plus it gives a better slope for better drainage.
