For 7 yrs of Full Time travel when we were at a site with sewer I used one.
Keep hose off ground, nicely sloped from drain out let to sewer connection, easy to use/stow.....and when we encounter CGs that required one we had it and didn't need to find/purchase usually at CG and higher priced.
Same with 'sewer donut'......
