Yes, it is a good idea to use one, especially as a LOT of sewer connections extent above ground level in most cases. This is done so that ground water will not drain into the sewer system. If you do not "walk" it down after dumping, your slinky hose will remain full of water and may leak. We have one of the support systems, and usually place a piece of plastic gutter in that. With proper support, sometimes we just use the gutter section. At least enough to get a downhill slope all the way. If it is a "one-time and go" dump, just walk it down and flush when we finish. I find that a 10' length of gutter cut into a 6' and a 4' piece fits most every need. They both just slide into one of the full-width bins.
