This has been my experience with the type of support system you are considering, especially if you need to connect two hoses together. My next project will be DIY sewer support system that stores fairly easily.
As mentioned earlier, Fishing Bridge at Yellowstone has the sewer connections raised several inches above the ground. I believe ours was at least 6" and with a fairly low termination point of my dump valves it made dumping without a GOOD hose support system a PITA.
