There's a Tractor Supply about 2 miles from my home. They carry Wrangler Jeans in Extra Elephant sizes, and I can buy nuts, bolts, screws, etc. in quantities less than the 1,000 count blister packs in the big box stores.
It reminds me of the old time hardware stores that have, sadly, gone out of business. I used to go to one about 20 miles from home that still had a wall of small drawers with all kinds of small parts. I could walk in there and ask "Do you have one of these?" because I didn't even know what to call it. They always did, and could walk right to it.
