Rain in the Desert.....

We have done the whole Coast and prefer the north up around Cannon Beach; then down to Winchester Bay before heading inland. This year we spent a week in Bandon - although we have visited there before we had no stayed there. Loved it.

We also have very dense fog in Wellton this morning. Visibility is less than 100 yards.

We are 25 miles north of Tucson and have had a steady, gentle, soaking rain for most of the last 48 hours. The backyard rain gauge shows 2.25". We are loving it, spent the last couple of days curled up in front of the fireplace looking forward to a spectacular spring wildflower bloom.

I took advantage of the coming rain to put down (spray), the Pre Emergent weed control which requires at least a half an inch of water to be effective. This is a lot easier than hand watering in a half an inch. Done correctly there will be no, none, zero, nada weeds for another year. Without it yards quickly begin to resemble a west Texas weed farm. Gotta love what this rain will have done for the local golf courses as well, got a Tee time for Tuesday afternoon.

Awwww the poor people getting rain in the desert. I feel so sorry for them,,,,NOT.

Now the people in Boston getting 2 feet of snow I feel a little sorry for them. I also commend them for dealing with it without complaint.

Remember a few years ago when some southern city got a few inches of snow and everybody got stuck sleeping in there car because they didn't close the schools or nothing. (Wasn't that Atlanta?)

Some friends of ours are camping just east of Phoenix and they had a flash flood close the road they entered on.
