first, IMHO that hitch is a low end basic WDH and wayyy overpriced!:E
for about $440 w/free shipping, you can get an Equal-i-zer WDH with built-in sway control. it is a superior WDH compared to that old tech Camco unit.
you'll really need a quality WDH, like the Equal-i-zer or Reese Dual-Cam for that long of a trailer being pulled by your short wheelbase Escalade. even better, a Hensley or ProPride WDH.
i also echo concern about it towing such a large trailer. you don't provide any specs for your Escalade but if it has the 5.3 v-8, i don't think you're going to like towing that trailer.
and you don't provide model # or specs to your trailer, so can't really say if you've got a good combo.
i suspect the dealer/salesman told you that you'd have no problem towing that trailer.:R
#1 newbie mistake is believing the dealer/salesman.
