I agree with DH. Unless you just want a larger truck, your trailer is not THAT heavy and the pulls in your area, IMHO, are not that tough. There is a lot of difference in 323 & 373 gearing. Either way, to some extent, you will just have to get used to a little struggling with a gas engine.
