Pulled a 5000lb HTT with my '98 F150 with 4.6L V8 and on occassion would have to turn off the a/c, downshift to 3rd(5sp manual with 3:55's) and let the engine wind right out to keep a decent pace on hills in NY State and Northern Ontario. Still have the trucks and she is no worse for wear.
