rear axle ratio change better towing capacity

I had that exact same truck and traded up to a 5.3l silverado cause that 4.8 is gutless, has no tranny cooler (at least on mine) and even floored I could never get over 35 on a hill. The 5.3 had the 6 speed and 3.42 gears and did great but was only an extended cab and my kids didn't fit in back. Just traded up to a ram 1500 with the hemi and 3.92 and it tows beautifully, has plenty of room and power. Only get 7.8mpg towing but that's fine

So what I am saying is that even with new gears if it was like mine it has no tranny cooler, and still low horsepower and torque ratings
