You are way over thinking this. The only appliance that really exhaust heat is the furnace. My furnace is on the awning side and is not an issue uinless you stand in front of it. Furnace is only on in the winter when I'm less likely to be outside.
Water heater is generally on electric and producing minimal exhaust heat.
When on lp water heater will exhaust a minimal,negligible amount of heat.
Noise from the water heater in gas mode is a bigger issue than exhaust.
Appliance exhaust under the awning is a non issue.
